Timeline

This is probably not going to work.

Based on in-story specifications, this page will attempt to detail Guardian's history as though it were in real time.  Being that comic book time is rather fluid, no doubt there will be some contradictions and discrepancies, but we'll give it a try and see what comes out of it.

Very much a work in progress, but the entries below should give you an idea of what I'm attempting to accomplish.  Eventually, all events should connect (in theory).

===========

After discovering that an exo-skeleton he designed and built is intended to be sold by his employer, Am-Can Petroleum, to the United States as a weapon, James MacDonald Hudson breaks into the company's facility.  He destroys the plans for the exo-skeleton to avoid having his creation used as a weapon of war.  He keeps the suit's helmet, reasoning that it belongs to him as he designed and built it prior to being employed by Am-Can.

Within the next year: James MacDonald Hudson and Heather McNeil have a pre-wedding "honeymoon" in Northern Canada during which they encounter Wolverine.  Wolverine is shot by McNeil but nursed back to health and recruited into Department H.  Hudson and McNeil marry. (Alpha Flight V1 #2 and Alpha Flight -1).

During the course of the three years following the AM-Can break-in:  The Canadian government takes care of erasing Mac's actions against Am-Can.  Mac is tasked with the creation of Department H as a Research and Development arm of the Department of Defense. (Alpha Flight V1 #3)

During the six years following the completion of Department H's creation: The Guardian suit is built. (Alpha Flight V1 #3)

In the year following the construction of the guardian armour:  Guardian is tasked with retrieving Wolverine, who has left Department H without clearance.  He fails in both attempts; the first a solo effort (X-Men 109, Alpha Flight V1 #17), the second with the help of Alpha Flight (X-Men 120, 121).  The Canadian government cuts funding to Department H but Alpha Flight continues on regardless. (Alpha Flight V1 #1)  Shortly into their adventures, Guardian appears to be killed in action. (Alpha Flight V1 #12)

Two years following Guardian's apparent death: Guardian is found alive by members of Alpha Flight in a Roxxon energy research facility in Denver, Colorado. (Alpha Flight V1 #87).  He appears to die again in issue 100, then returns in issue 129.  The amount of time between those events is not clear (at least not yet).

Within a year from Mac's most recent return in (Alpha Flight #129):  Mac and Heather have broken up (Alpha Flight V2 #1).  Department H wipes Mac's mind and fire him off into space where he is later found by Sasquatch in the arctic (Alpha Flight V2 #19).  He is replaced in Alpha Flight with a significantly younger clone.
