Guardian is among my favourite comic book characters and has been since I bought Alpha Flight #1 as a kid. I enjoyed the team as a whole, but Guardian was my reason for buying. Like many, I loved the idea of having my own flag-wearer to follow. I recall being frustrated at several of the issues during the middle part of the series' first year because Guardian appeared very little. And then, well...#12. ;-) So much for all that...My enjoyment of comics in general has fluctuated over the years but a while back I decided to track down some of my favourite characters specifically. I bought back issues of Alpha Flight in which Guardian appeared.
But man is his history difficult to follow! He died! He's back! No, he's not, that's just some robot chick! Yes, he is! Bah, he died again! Wait, he's back! What, he's a kid now? No, that's a young clone...Or wait, which one is the clone??! Oh, who cares, one of them is dead. Now the whole team is dead? Oh, good, they're back!
Because the whole thing is kind of muddled, I want to keep track of what I have, and what I need, and if anyone else happens to be interested in the character and enjoys this page, all the better.
